ALPINE AUTUMN
ESCAPE
27 March - 2 April, 2022
SOLD OUT
The accommodation is booked, the itinerary is set, all you need to do is pack your bags and fuel up your Porsche.
Following the success of our Queensland holiday drive last Autumn (2021), we are planning another holiday drive for the Autumn of 2022.
While Covid-19 restrictions are still in existence for NSW, we are hopeful that the road-map to normality will allow us to do some country travelling next year, certainly come Autumn. The current thinking is to be proactive, act positively and get on the front foot to make reservations now.
Planning is well advanced; agreements having been made with all proposed venues. Dates have been selected based on no public or school holidays, or Club meeting nights and where accommodation vacancies existed.
We are limited to 30 rooms, 60 people. This will be a whole event package and is for Porsche cars only.
Itinerary:
Sunday - 27th March Blue Mountains Hydro Majestic – Medlow Bath.
Meeting Point, Welcome, Meet & Greet Dinner.
Monday - 28th March Canberra Realm Hotel
Tuesday - 29th March Jindabyne Rydges Horizons Hotel
Wednesday - 30th March Jindabyne Rydges Horizons Hotel
Thursday - 31st March Thredbo Alpine Hotel
Friday - 1st April Albury Mantra Hotel
Saturday - 2nd April Canberra Hyatt Hotel - Awards & Farewell Dinner
A free, or rest/lay, day has been planned for the Wednesday. Choices are, do nothing but enjoy your Horizons deluxe apartment and facilities; take a drive up to Charlottes Pass or stroll around Jindabyne.
Nightly venues have been contained in NSW & ACT, just in case the Victorian border is closed.
The best available dinners have been arranged each night at the venues we are staying in. Breakfast has also been arranged for every morning.
We have five days of driving the best roads to be found in N.S.W, south of Sydney. Should the Victorian border be open, we will venture a little south of it. If the border is closed, we are spoilt for choices, whilst remaining in N.S.W. A mix of roads can be expected, from mountain bends, flat plateau, meandering country and highway. All will be sealed (unless roadwork is encountered) and all offer great scenery. Day four drive takes in a coastal loop and ends not all that far from that day’s start point.
Comprehensive drive guide notes will be provided for you to follow, either joining a convoy, drive solo or even make your own route. There is flexibility for the drive, some days offer a shorter, more direct route or highway to get you to the next accommodation if you don’t wish to follow the guide.
Our planned notes and route have us arriving at our new venues around 3pm, after about 5 hours of actual driving (some days are more, some days a little less) plus various pit stops along the way - so plenty of time to relax before the night’s gathering at the bar, tell tall tales & enjoy a sumptuous dinner.
The Price for the whole event is $3,000 per couple. This includes accommodation for all seven nights, seven dinners & seven breakfasts, event notes & incidentals etc.
As interest in Club events has been very high over the past year or so, possibly due to a lack of freedom in travel of all sorts, we anticipate this event will fill quickly.
If you are interested in this event, registration is to be made directly with our Club Administrator Michelle, via phone or SMS.
Confirmation of registration will be required by making your full payment direct into the Club’s Westpac bank account (below).
