911 50 YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

15 SEPTEMBER 2013

Due to the overwhelming and positive response, with 100 cars participating in the event, we have reached maximum capacity and closed registrations, we have also closed off the waiting list.

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the world's greatest sports car - the Porsche 911.

To commemorate this milestone, Porsche AG is sending a very special early model 911 on a World Tour to participate in celebrations in global markets where the 911 has a rich history. And of course, this includes Australia.

By the time the World Tour 911 arrives in Sydney for its brief stay, it will have shared in 911 celebrations from Paris to Moscow and from Stuttgart to Los Angeles.

Our plan for the 50 year birthday party is to do something very special and very Australian.

We want to have the World Tour car lead a convoy of 50 911s across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We have the support of the NSW Police who will arrange to have one of the lanes of the SHB closed just for us. We will of course capture this special crossing on film and share our Aussie moment with the rest of the Porsche world.

We will meet in the city on Sunday September 15, 2013 where we will line-up our 50 911s and depart at 7:00 AM to drive in convoy over the Sydney Harbour Bridge towards Taronga Zoo where will be have a light breakfast afterwards, finishing up around 10:00 AM.

On behalf of Porsche Cars Australia (PCA), 911 owners are invited to participate in this unique PR event. The goodwill and camaraderie will be palpable.

Ideally, we would like an eclectic mix of 911s across the various generations, with open top and coupe, special models, the unique, the rare, the race bred.

The first 45 registrations will receive a special gift on the day. [The first 45 registrations have been received.] You are most welcome to bring a guest and for catering purposes, we ask that you add them during the registration process.

Due to the special nature of this commemorative event only 911 type cars are able to participate: 911F, 911G, 964, 993, 996, 997 and 991.

By registering for this event, you acknowledge that you and your car will be photographed and may appear in Porsche and other media. Your car and contact details will be made available to the PCA representative co-ordinating this event.

If you have any questions please email president@pcnsw.com.au. Registrations will close on Monday 12 August.
